"Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!" Psalm 80:3
Restoration: to put back to a former position
Restoration is only bringing someone back to what they were before the major problem arose.
We are not destined to be as we were!
God has plans to bless us to a better position than we were before our need for restoration.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
The only hope for mankind is Jesus and what He has done for us while living and dying.
He defeated the power of sin by living a sinless life,
and then cancelled the penalty for sin by dying as the perfect sacrifice on the cross.
"Now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant,
which was established on better promises." Hebrews 8:6
To be established on better promises means that, by abiding by the conditions of the covenant,
we can have a better life than before.
